"Rather Weighty This"

The first thing I need to blog about is of course, the weight issue. I've always been some what "think" as our latino male friends would point out. I'm pretty tall, 5'9", and have quite the supple rack, all on a considerably wide frame. I'm no delicate flower. According to the calculators on line, I am "moderately overweight." That sounds nice, right? At least it doesn't say I'm obese.
Before when I was losing weight, it seemed fairly easy. Keeping the weight off has been the difficult part. I can't ignore it though, so I have a plan:

I went online and found a calorie calculator. You type in your current weight, height, age, gender, and your level and hours of activity. Then it calculates how many calories your body burns in a day. For me, I typically burn 3036 calories a day (assuming I ride my bike to school.) 3500 calories burnt or not consumed means 1 pound lost per week. Based on these calculations I figured out how many calories I burn in one week, then subtracted 10500 calories from that total, meaning I should hopefully lose 3 pounds a week. (I only have 4 and a half weeks to loose 13 pounds!) Based on these numbers, I am allowed to consume just about 1500 calories a day. (I will probably aim for a little less. When I was dieting before I ate 1300 calories a day.) It is important to guarantee that you consume at least 1200 calories a day or your body will go into starvation mode and GAIN weight...no, no, no.

My diet this week includes:
Breakfast:
Oatmeal- 110 calories
Slimfast chocolate mixed shake-200 calories. (I need to to to the drug store and
buy a fiber supplement and add it to my Slim fast shake. That adds 25 calories.
Lunch:
Slimfast canned shake (vanilla)- 180 Calories
turkey sandwich on 1 piece of bread-- about 220 calories.

Snack:
Carrots- 35 calories
Granola bar-- 90 calories

Which puts me at 850 Calories before dinner, meaning that I can have about 550 calories at dinner time.

My dinners for the week are a bomb-diggety Chicken Tortilla soup that I made with Brandon that's full of veggies and salads. Its so good! I'll let you know how it goes!
